BEELSBY is a small village in a pleasant
valley on the east side of the Wolds, 6 miles E by N of Caistor and
7 and half miles SW by S of Grimsby, has in its parish 170 souls
and 2189 acres.
Henry John Adeane Esq is lord of the manor
and owner of the soil.
The church (St Andrew) is a small tiled
building without a tower. The rectory…is in the patronage of the
Chapter of Southwell and incumbency of the Rev George Wilkins DD of
Nottingham, for whom the Rev Arthur D Wilkins BA of Croxby
officiates. The tithes were commuted in 1848 for a yearly corn rent
of £570.
