The ancient church of St Lawrence in the village of Thornton Curtis is home to the parish's war memorials.
Note: The chuch was undergoing restoration work in October and November 2009.
As you enter the church, the Second World War stone memorial tablet and the hand-written First World War roll of honour can be found mounted on the wall to the left of the door. The white marble First World War memorial can be found mounted on the wall to the right of the door. While the memorial is in good condition, the church wall behind it is a poor state of repair.

THE WOODEN MEMORIAL BOARDS
Resting in a window in the in the north wall are two wooden memorials - one for the First World War and the other for the Seond World War. The inscriptions and names are identical to the wall-mounted memorials. Were these the original memorials, later replaced by ones made of more permanent materials?
SECOND WORLD WAR ROLL OF HONOUR
When I was last in the churcc, I couldn't find the Second World War roll of honour. For completeness, I include the names nonetheless. Can anyone tell me where this has gone?
