   Bradley 1856

BRADLEY, 2 and a half miles SSW of Grimsby, is a small village and parish containing only 97 souls and 1523 acres. It gives the name to this Wapentake and was added on 1823 to the parliamentary borough of Great Grimsby. Sir John Nelthorpe is lord of the manor but part of the soil belongs to G F Heneage Esq. The former is also patron of the church (St George). The Rev W W B Phillipson BA is the rector. The poor children of the parish enjoy the benefits of Laceby Free School. Here is a small Wesleyan Chapel.
