  • A REAL BOOST FOR THE PORT OF IMMINGHAM
    THE A160 ROAD INTO THE PORT OF IMMINGHAM will receive major improvements as part of plans announced by Sadiq Khan on Monday 22 March. Shona has said that these plans will create real benefits for industry in the port and all along the South Bank. The Transport Minister released plans to add capacity and improve road safety on the three miles of the A160 leading into the Port of Immingham.   • NEW BY-PASS FOR IMMINGHAM
    AS PART OF A RAFT OF ANNOUNCEMENTS made by Sadiq Khan on Monday 23 March, Shona has welcomed news of a new road from the A18 to the A180 that would allow traffic to travel around Immingham. The Transport Minister has detailed plans to improve access to the Port of Immingham from the south. As part of this, North East Lincolnshire Council's proposed scheme has been approved and the Department of Transport will be investing £6.4 million into the new link-road.     SHONA HAS ANNOUNCED THAT SHE is delighted with Sadiq Khan's announcements made on Monday 23 March that proposals to reduce or remove Humber Bridge tolls have been moved to the next stage. Sadiq announced that the evidence needed for the Government to make a decision on the Humber Bridge tolls will be completed within six months.     SHONA HAS JOINED A CAMPAIGN to protect our natural world by signing the Letter to the Future, a major new campaign run by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). The letter calls for better investment in nature by politicians, urging them to consider our natural, as well as our financial, future when making decisions about how to tackle the country's pressing economic problems.     SHONA HAS SIGNED UP TO the 'I Stand For Children' campaign run by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). The campaign has been launched to ensure that the welfare of young people is not forgotten in the next Parliamentary session and that the protection of children remains a top priority.     MINISTER TO VISIT HUMBER BRIDGEFOLLOWING THE FREEZE IN HUMBER BRIDGE TOLLS in December, Transport Minister Sadiq Khan will be visiting the bridge in March along with local MP Shona McIsaac.     SHONA MCISAAC HAS WELCOMED the long-awaited publication of the investigation into MPs expenses and allowances. Following detailed examination of all MPs accounts, auditors have concluded that all of Shona's finances complied with the rules and that there were no errors or over-claims.
