WOKE UP TO ANOTHER SNOWY SCENE. Every since the Copenhagen climate change conference, it seems to have snowed! No snuggling in front of the TV today, though, there was work to do. It was my first advice surgery of the year - at Cleethorpes Library. The Cleethorpes surgery is always busy, but following the Christmas break, this one was even more packed than nornal. I run a drop-in session, so no one has to make an appointment. There were some regulars and new faces. The issues and problems were as wide-ranging as ever - housing, CSA, lack of gritting in the icy weather, the plans for yet more high-rise flats along the sea front (people don't like them), consumer issues, the NHS, refuse collection, employment problems, the use of the word Humberside, legal issues. It took longer than normal as I couldn't write particularly fast thanks to the dog bite.
Then off for lunch with my team followed by some afternoon campaigning.
Thanks to Ian Cawsey MP - one of my Facebook chums - I managed to keep up with the match at Blundell Park. It was looking good until Bury equalised with a penalty. Still, as Ian commented: Town are unbeaten in 2010. Some churlish sort then posted a comment saying that it was also true that the Mariners hadn't won a game in 2010. Come to think of it, how many games have they won since Woods took over?
Spend the evening typing (slowly on account of the bitten hand) up my notes from the advice surgery and preparing the follow up letters.
Parlaiment reconvenes on Tuesday with a debate on the Fiscal Responsibility Bill. No dount ir will be tit-for-tat accusations about this, that and the other policy all the way to election day.
